Sailing under flag Seychellois is a solution to avoid
paying too many rights of navigation, taxes and other taxes.
To register a boat under
Seychelles flag , you
need either to be a Seychelles citizen , or to form
a Seychelles company
for this purpose
In the case of a pleasure
yacht sailing
mainly outside Seychelles territorial water, it is necessary to
constitute an IBC International Business Company , the offshore company
in Seychelles , to own the boat.

| The rules for register of boat under
Seychelles flag |
- To safeguard the image of Seychelles and to avoid "the
wrecks" the limiting age of the boat to be recorded is fixed at 15 years,
with however possibilities of exemption for well maintained ships
- If the boat is apart from territorial waters of
Seychelles, it is theoretically possible to record it temporarily in a
diplomatic representation Seychellois abroad. The provisional recording
is valid for 90 days renewable.
- For a new boat of series, the permanent recording can
be done directly through an application which we present at the Port
authorities of Victoria.
- For a boat of nonstandard occasion (limited series),
the ship must be appraised by a company of classification recognized by
the Seychelles authorities .

For the owners who wish it, a representative of our
office COTE d'AZUR- MAHE Registered Agents Ltd can move with a person in
charge for the MSA (Maritime Safety Administration) in order to check the
state of the yacht.
If the ship corresponds to the standards, all the authorizations necessary
for the recording of the aforesaid boat will be delivered at the time of
this inspection, and the boat could be recorded directly.

are regulated by the International Business Companies ACT 1994 and the
Merchant Shipping ACT 1992. These companies are regarded as offshore for
reasons for exchange control if the beneficial owners are non
Seychellois

No publication of identity of directors&
shareholders

No income tax on the profits by an offshore company which
owns ships under the Seychelles flag and operates in international waters.
Further no tax on the dividends paid by such company.

No tax is paid on the sale or transfer of a Seychelles
vessel or of the shares in its own company.
- No estate duty is paid
on the inheritance of shares of Seychelles ship owning offshore company

No tax is
paid on the salaries of officers and crew of Seychelles ship which operate
in international water.
The Seychelles has the unique
advantage of being, at the same time, a member of the United Nations, the
Commonwealth, the group of non-aligned Countries, the OUA, the Indian
ocean Commission and in this context ships flying the Seychelles flag
receive friendly treatment
worldwide.
In
addition, the Seychelles is a member of International Maritime
Organization
(IMO).
The Seychelles
is a country of mixed jurisdiction. The Civil code is based on the French
code whereas the commercial, criminal and other laws are based on the
English system. The
Merchant Shipping legislation is based on the English system.
The sole business
restrictions for an IBC are:
- To carry on business with persons resident in
Seychelles islands;
- To own an interest in real property in Seychelles,
however, an IBC can use an office from to communicate with the members ,it
can also be used to keep books and records of the Company ;
- To carry on banking ;
- To carry on business of an insurance or reinsurance
company ;
